Typhoon

Hi.

So I made a second tumblr. Neat, huh? I thought so too.

www.kadikou.tumblr.com will continue to be for my own personal photos, etc.

www.ariykoi.tumblr.com, which is new, will be my everyday findings that I find entertaining. So, if you want a little peep into my head outside of my own personal art, then stop by and say hai over there.

Thanks.

You may now continue with your everyday tumbling.

A Legend - You Only Live Once

Today marks a new day in my own personal world of Photography. Why is that? Because of this image:

I’ve been longing for something new in the world of my digital photography. It’s been a while since I’ve been incredibly excited about going out to take photos - I’d often take my iPhone with me or my little point and shoot since those are now almost up to par with this beast of a camera, and a lot of SLRs these days. It’s always been easier to take the little cameras with me, especially since I didn’t need to super high quality of the SLR, plus the SLR is just huge and cumbersome when I want to go on adventures with my friends.

When it comes to an SLR, the only reason I’d use one is because of what the other cameras can’t do. You would have more zoom power with the SLR, and better quality pictures… And that’s all I had that was different.

But this is different. This changes things.

I purchased this 50mm lens from a camera shop that went out of business not too long ago and was selling their back stock. I hesitated because of the price… But after seeing just what it could do, I was sold. You only live once, so why not, right? What makes it special is that it has an f-stop of 1. Just 1. It’s truly an astounding and beast of a lens that demands precision. With that kind of f-stop, you can take pictures in the lowest of lowest light, and even then you’d have room to play around with it, but it also makes the depth of field all of a centimeter making it one hell of a learning curve and a challenge. And that’s just what I’m looking for. Something new. Something unique. Something challenging.

Right now, I believe it was well worth what I paid for it, and now I own a legend of a lens - the Canon 50mm F/1.0.
